Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor M2/CHRM2 Antibody (585713) [Unconjugated]

HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with either (A) human CHRM2 or (B) irrelevant protein, and eGFP, was stained with Mouse anti-human CHRM2 monoclonal antibody (Catalog # MAB6377) followed by Allophycocyanin-conjugated anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (F0101B). Quadrant markers were set based on control antibody staining (MAB002, data not shown). Staining was performed using our Staining Membrane-Associated Proteins protocol.

Background

Muscarinic acetylcholine receptor M2 (CHRM2) is a 60 kDa 7-transmembrane glycoprotein that is predominantly expressed in the heart and central nervous system. CHRM2 mediates signal transduction in the autonomic nervous system in response to muscarinic agonists. Polymorphisms of CHRM2 are associated with alcohol dependence, depression, bipolar disorder, and recovery of heart function after myocardial infarction. Human CHRM2 shares 96% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat CHRM2.
