Background
This gene was identified by the up-regulation of its expression upon Epstein-Barr virus infection of primary B lymphocytes. This gene is predicted to encode a G protein-coupled receptor that is most closely related to the thrombin receptor. Expression of this gene was detected in B-lymphocyte cell lines and lymphoid tissues but not in T-lymphocyte cell lines or peripheral blood T lymphocytes. The function of this gene is unknown. I am interested in antibody H00001880-XXX. I see there are 3 version sof this antibody; can you clarify the differences? Also, this antibody is said to work in ELISA. I am interested in the details of this validating ELISA. What form of EBI2 was used? Was the antigen captured from cell lysate? Also, you have another antibody (NBP1-44160). The immunogen is not specified. Can you tell me if the immunogen was an intracellular or extracellular peptide? Thanks for your help
- The antibody H00001880-B01P has been purified using Protein A (and hence the pack size is given in mg), whereas the antibodies H00001880-B01 and H00001880-B02 are supplied as whole antisera (pack size in ml). The difference between H00001880-B01 and H00001880-B02 is the templates as constructing. However, the sequence are exactly the same so they have the same immunogen. But we haven't tested the epitope, we cannot provide the information about it. So the different antibodies were generated using the immunogen but with the protein sequence coming from different information sources (as reflected by the reference codes given in the 'Immunogen' box on our web pages for each product); the epitopes of the different antibodies haven't been tested so may or may not be the same. With regards to the details of the validation ELISA for the three antibodies, unfortunately there has been a mistake - these antibodies have not actually been tested in ELISA. This means that we do not stock an EBI2/GPR183 antibody that has been validated for ELISA - please accept our apologies. However, if you do test one of our EBI2/GPR183 antibodies in ELISA, you would be eligible for our Innovators Reward Program: Novus will provide you a 50% refund on the purchased product as well as a 50% discount on a future product of equal or lesser value. You would simply email innovators@novusbio.com to apply for your award; we would send you a form for you to submit a summary of your research and report your experimental results, after which your award will be given, regardless of whether the antibody proved suitable for ELISA or not. Last but not least, with regards to the antibody NBP1-44160, the epitope is in the C-terminal domain.
