• Description: This product is an Antibody-Drug Conjugate (ADC) for Research Use Only (RUO).
  
  Polatuzumab vedotin (Polivy) is an ADC consisting of a CD79B-directed antibody and Monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) that can be used in combination with bendamustine and rituximab for the treatment of adult patients with at least two relapses or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Polatuzumab vedotin binds to CD79B and is internalized by tumor cells. MMAE is cleaved from cells by lysosomal protease and promotes tumor cell apoptosis by inhibiting microtubule formation.
  
  This product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store immediately at -20C or lower for 12 months in a lyophilized state. - 80C for 3 months after reconstitution. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Background

Murine CD79 is a 23/21 kDa disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of an alpha chain (CD79alpha/mb-1) and a beta chain (CD79b/B29) that associates non-covalently with membrane immunoglobulin (Ig) to form the B cell receptor (BCR) complex. Its expression is restricted to B lymphocytes, first appearing on the surface at the pro-B cell stage prior to productive Ig gene rearrangements and remaining through all stages of B-cell differentiation prior to plasma cells. It has been proposed that the CD79 complex on pro-B cell surfaces may function to induce early B-cell differentiation. (1)
