Background

IKAROS family zinc finger 3 (IKZF3), also known as Aiolos, is a hematopoietic-specific transcription factor involved in the regulation of lymphocyte development. This gene product interacts with IKZF family memebers as well as FoxP3, resulting in select gene silencing in Tregs. Over amino acids (aa) 1-54, human and mouse share 70% aa sequence identity.
