P2Y2 Antibody

P2Y2, also known as P2Y purinoceptor 2, belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor family. This family has several receptor subtypes with different pharmacological selectivity, which overlaps in some cases, for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides. P2Y2 is responsive to both adenosine and uridine nucleotides and therefore a receptor for both ATP and UTP. As result, P2Y2 plays a role in the activation of a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. P2Y2 may also participate in control of the cell cycle of endometrial carcinoma cells and act as a morphogen receptor that potentiates neurotrophin signaling in neuronal development and regeneration. P2Y2 is a cell membrane protein that is expressed in the spleen, testis, kidney, liver, lung, heart, and brain.
