Troponin I Type 3 (cardiac) Antibody (M155) Summary
| Immunogen |
Free human cardiac troponin and/or native troponin complex. 27-43 aa |
| Specificity |
Reacts with free cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and cTnI forming complexes with other troponin components (in the presence of 5 mM EDTA). Not affected by heparin, phosphorylation, oxidation and troponin complex formation. Does not cross-react with skeletal muscle. |

Background
In clinical studies of new drugs, new methods of surgery are carried out on experimental animals. The effects of the new technologies on cardiac function and on cardiac myocyte viability can be important. The majority of the anti-cardiac Troponin I MAbs have wide specificity and recognize not only human cardiac Troponin I but also cardiac Troponin I from other species. Several combinations of MAbs were tested and could be used for quantitative detection of cardiac Troponin I in blood of different species. An assay utilizing MAb M155 as a capture and MAb 19C7 as detection gives equal response with antigens from different animal species. Other MAb pairs, with epitopes located in different parts of troponin molecule, could also be used for the same purpose.
