Background

The thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptor (TRH-R), a Releasing Hormone Receptor, is activated by thyrotropin-releasing hormone. TRH-R may play a role in the etiopathogenesis of essential hypertension. TRH-R expression has been documented in adrenal, brain, eye, heart, ovary, pancreas, spinal cord, testis, thymus, and uterus.
