Background

The TAAR2 gene encodes a trace amine-associated receptor 2 protein that in is 351 amino acids long and 40 kDA in isoform 1 and is 306 amino acids long and 34 kDA in isoform 2. This receptor is known as an orphan receptor. TAAR2 participates in GPCR ligand binding, signal transduction, amine ligand-binding receptors, and neuroactive ligand-receptor interactions.
