Background

The pyrimidinergic receptor P2Y4 (P2RY4) is a member of the Purinergic Receptor subfamily. Membrane-bound P2 receptors mediate the actions of extracellular nucleotides in cell-to-cell signaling. P2Y4 expression has been documented in blood, bone, heart, lung, pancreas, placenta, and umbilical cord.
