1. Are any of your Aquaporin-1 antibodies suitable for live cell staining? I am looking at doing flow cytometry on live cells and further isolation of the positive cells to purify the population.
   • A list of our Aquaporin-1 antibodies suitable for use in flow cytometry can be found using this link. Of note, NB600-741 is known to bind to an extracellular domain, so should be suitable for your use.
2. My question is on Aquaporin-1 Recombinant Protein (H00000358-P01). Do you have any data on the structure of this protein in the solution it's provided in (tris)? I want to make spectroscopic measurements of the insertion of aquaporins into model membranes, but obviously this requires that the protein forms the correct structure when reconstituted into a lipid bilayer; do you have any idea whether or not this is the case for your product?
   • This product is distributed by us through a Taiwanese company called Abnova. They do not test the activity of their recombinant proteins. The proteins are produced in a cell-free wheat germ system with an N-terminal 26kDa GST-tag. Due to this expression system, the proteins do not always undergo the same folding and post-transnational modifications they might undergo in an endogenous cell. Because of this, we do not suggest this protein for use in functional assays and do not guarantee them for this use. They are mainly intended for use in Western Blots as a positive control with their antibody.
