Background

The small GTPase RAB1 controls vesicle traffic from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi apparatus. Rab1 belongs to the Ras superfamily of GTPases that cycle between inactive GDP-bound and active GTP-bound forms (Allan et al., 2000 [PubMed 10903204]).[supplied by OMIM]
