• Application Notes: WB: Preliminary experiments gave approx. 48 kDa band and 37 kDa band bands in human brain (cerebellum) lysates after 1 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 40.2 kDa band according to NP_005950.1. The 48 kDa band and 37 kDa band bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. IHC-P: Human cerebellum shows membranous staining primarily in Purkinje cells.

Background

MTNR1b is a Melatonin Receptor that mediates the effects of melatonin in the retina and the photoperiodic control of neuroendocrine functions. It may also be involved in melatonin-induced immune enhancement. MTNR1b has been reported in adipose, brain, eye, and ovary. An EST has been isolated from an eye tissue library.
