Background

GPR92 is a receptor for lysophosphatidic acid (LPA).  It belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.  LPL receptors are integral membrane proteins that are important for lipid signaling.  Functions of LPL receptors include inhibition of adenylyl cyclase and release of calcium from the endoplasmic reticulum.  Secondary effects also include preventing apoptosis and increasing cell proliferation.
