• Application Notes: WB: Preliminary experiments gave an approx. 150 kDa band in mouse and rat brain lysates after 1 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 100 kDa band according to human NP_055602.1, 105 kDa band according to mouse 001158055.1 and 99.3 kDa band according to rat NP_001101419.1. The 150 kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Background

DNAJC6 belongs to the evolutionarily conserved DNAJ/HSP40 family of proteins, which regulate molecular chaperone activity by stimulating ATPase activity. DNAJ proteins may have up to 3 distinct domains: a conserved 70-amino acid J domain, usually at the N terminus, a glycine/phenylalanine (G/F)-rich region, and a cysteine-rich domain containing 4 motifs resembling a zinc finger domain (Ohtsuka and Hata, 2000 [PubMed 11147971]).[supplied by OMIM]
