Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is an analytic biochemical assay that utilizes enzyme-linked antibodies on a microwell platform to quantitate specific proteins within biological samples. Visual detection is then achieved by adding the enzyme’s substrate, which causes a color-changing reaction to occur. There are three different types of ELISA that are most commonly used: indirect ELISA, sandwich ELISA and competitive ELISA. These assays are extremely useful for high-throughput diagnostic screenings drug testing.

Reduced samples of purified target proteins contained 4% BME and were boiled for 5 minutes. Samples of 1ug of protein per lane were run by SDS-PAGE. ![Immunohistochemistry: Osteopontin/OPN Antibody [NB600-1043] - Osteopontin/OPN/OPN antibody was used at a 1:100-1:300 dilution to detect osteopontin by immunohistochemistry. Osteopontin/OPN is a normal component of elastic fibers in the breast (shown heavily stained in this section of human breast tumor cells). There is also weak staining of the extracellular matrix. Osteopontin/OPN is not expressed in breast tumor cells, and there is no staining of the breast cells in this section.
