Background

The HHLA3 gene codes for a HERV-H LTR-associating protein 3 that exists in 3 types: type 1 is 76 AA long at 8 8 kDA, type 2 is 121 AA long at 13 kDA, and type 3 is 114 AA long at nearly 13 kDA. The HHLA3 gene has been known to interact with genes NMI, CHRM3, LRRC29, PCDH15, and TP53BP2.
