Acetylcholine Antibody [Alexa Fluor® 532] Summary
| Immunogen |
Synthetic acetylcholine conjugated to Keyhole limpet Haemocyanin |
| Specificity |
Rabbit anti acetylcholine polyclonal antibody recognizes the small cationic neurotransmitter acetylcholine, involved in the transmission of nerve impulses across synapses. The structure of acetylcholine is preserved across the animal kingdom and the Rabbit anti acetylcholine is expected to recognize acetylcholine from all species posessing this neurotransmitter. |

Background
The chemical compound Acetylcholine, often abbreviated as ACh, was the first neurotransmitter to be identified. It is a chemical transmitter in the central nervous system (CNS) as well as in the parasympathetic nervous system in many organisms including humans. When it binds to Acetylcholine receptors of muscle fibers, stimulates those fibers to contract. Acetylcholine is also used in the brain, where it tends to cause excitatory actions.
Limitations
This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Primary Antibodies are
guaranteed for 1 year from date of receipt.
