New APE1 Redox Inhibitor Molecule (E3330)

Release Date:
Tuesday, April 5, 2011 - 06:00

AP Endonuclease 1 (APE1), also known as REF-1, is an enzyme primarily responsible for DNA base excision repair. In addition to a DNA repair domain, APE-1 also contains a redox regulation domain to help activate other enzymes involved in the DNA repair pathway. APE 1 is found overexpressed in many human cancers and is required for cancer cell viability, making APE-1 inhibition a potentially important target for cancer therapy.

Three new Histone Demethylase Antibodies Announced by Novus Biologicals

Release Date:
Monday, March 21, 2011 - 06:00

Novus Biologicals announced today the release of three new rabbit polyclonal antibodies to important histone demethylase proteins: JMJD2C (Catalog# NBP1-49600), JMJD1A (Catalog# NBP1-49601), and JMJD2A (Catalog# NBP1-49602).

All three of these new antibodies cross-react with human and mouse proteins, and are useful for Western blot, immunohistochemistry on paraffin tissues, and fluorescent immunocytochemistry.

C. elegans antibodies from the modENCODE project now available through Novus Biologicals

Release Date:
Friday, March 18, 2011 - 06:00

Antibodies against 69 C. elegans chromosomal proteins generated by the modENCODE project are now commercially available through Novus Biologicals, SDIX™ pre-made antibody distributor. The modENCODE project (model organism ENCyclopedia Of DNA Elements) is funded by the NIH to identify all of the DNA sequence-based functional elements in the Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) and Drosophila melanogaster genomes.

Golgi Complex Marker - TGN46 Antibody Launched by Novus Biologicals

Release Date:
Monday, March 7, 2011 - 07:00

Novus Biologicals is excited to announce the release of a new rabbit polyclonal TGN46 Antibody (Catalog Number NBP1-49643) for Golgi complex studies.

The TGN46 antibody is reactive with human TGN-46 protein (TGOLN), and is a useful Golgi apparatus marker for immunohistochemical staining on paraffin tissues and fluorescent immunocytochemistry.

Novus' NSP 5 alpha 3 alpha Antibody Cited in Oncotarget Journal Article

Release Date:
Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 07:00

Apoptosis is critical to maintenance of homeostasis in normal cells as well as the proliferation of tumor causing cancer cells. The programmed cell death mechanism is typically initiated by one of two pathways. The extrinsic pathway is triggered by external stimuli binding to specific membrane receptors, whereas the intrinsic pathway is prompted by internal stimuli such as oxidative stress, DNA damage, hypoxia, etc. The intrinsic pathway occurs through the activation of the apoptosis regulator protein p53, or its family members p63 and p73.

Human Monoclonal IgM+IgD+ B Cell Line Announced by Novus Biologicals

Release Date:
Friday, February 25, 2011 - 07:00

Novus Biologicals announced today a new CL-01 Cell Line.

The CL-01 cell line (Catalog Number NBP1-49595) is the only non-antigen specific human monoclonal B cell line that expresses surface IgM and IgD, and therefore readily differentiates upon appropriate stimuli. This characteristic makes the CL-01 cell line an ideal model system for in vitro studies of human B cell differentiation with implications on drug development for cancer, autoimmune and infectious diseases.
