hnRNA A1 is a protein encoded by the HNRNPA1 gene. These proteins bind RNA and complex with nuclear RNA. They appear to influence pre-mRNA processing as well as metabolism and transport. Though present in the nucleus, these proteins also shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm. Mutations in HNRNPA1 are implicated in the causation of multisystem proteinopathy. |
