Western Blot: DHX37 Antibody [NB110-40580] - Detection of human DHX37 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HEK293T cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-DHX37 antibody NB110-40580 (lot NB110-40580-2) used for IP at 3 ug per reaction. DHX37 was also immunoprecipitated by a previous lot of this antibody (lot NB110-40580-1) and another rabbit anti-DHX37 antibody. For blotting immunoprecipitated DHX37, NB110-40580 was used at 1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Background

This gene encodes a DEAD box protein. DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division.
