Dendritic Cells Antibody (MIDC-8) Summary

Immunogen
Made to Mouse DENDRITIC/INTERDIGITATING CELLS
Marker
Dendritic Cell Marker
Specificity
NB100-64608 is located in the cytoplasm as distinct spots near the nucleus. The antigen is found in dendritic cells; MIDC-8 does not stain thymic epithelial cells which are the major contaminants in thymic dendritic cell preparations. The antigen is also absent in blood cells, bone marrow cells or macrophages isolated from the peritoneal cavity. The antigen is found in interdigitating cells in T cell dependent areas of secondary lymphoid organs, the medulla of thymus, veiled cells, and very weakly in Langerhans cells.
Isotype
IgG2a
Clonality
Monoclonal
Host
Rat
Purity
Tissue culture supernatant

Background

Dendritic cells are potent antigen presenting cells that possess the ability to stimulate naive T cells. They are critical for the induction of T cell responses resulting in cell mediated immunity. Within different tissues, dendritic cells differentiate and become active in the taking up and processing of antigens, and their subsequent presentation on the cell surface linked to major histocompatibility (MHC) molecules. Upon appropriate stimulation, dendritic cells undergo further maturation and migrate to secondary lymphoid tissues where they present Ag to T cells and induce an immune response.

Limitations

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Primary Antibodies are guaranteed for 1 year from date of receipt.
