Background
Aflatoxin B1 is a naturally occurring mycotoxin produced by two types of mold: Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus. These molds commonly affect grains which are grown under stressful conditions such as drought and also grows on food that is stored in hot and humid conditions.
There are 13 known Aflatoxins produced, with aflatoxin B1 considered as the most toxic. In fact, Aflatoxin B1 is the most potent hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) causing chemical currently known. Specifically, Aflatoxin B1 is thought to case mutations in the p53 gene which interfere with the gene's critical tumor suppressing functions.
Aflatoxin B1 are useful tools for studying hepatocellular carcinoma formation with wide ranging implications into public health and food saftey.

FAQs for Aflatoxin B1 ELISA Kit (KA1412). (Showing 1 - 2 of 2 FAQ).
-
My question was how sensitive is your most sensitive aflatoxin antibody? Say in a standard ELISA plate format. I could not find any info of that kind on your website.
- We have one kit available, cat# KA1412, that can detect Aflatoxin levels of less than 1 ng/mL. The only other sensitivity information we have is that NB120-1017 can detect Aflatoxin when used at a concentration of 5ug/mL and NB100-2908 has a recommended dilution of 1:2000-1:10000 for use in ELISA.
-
wondering what the difference is between your quantikine and duo set elisas?
- Usually the duosets do not have the entire kit such as plates and buffers, whereas the other kits are complete.
