DDX1, also known as ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX1, is an 82.4 kDa 740 amino acid protein and is involved in unwinding RNA helixes and in altering RNA secondary structure. Current research is being conducted for diseases and disorders such as carcinoma, malaria, hepatitis, neuroblastoma, heavy chain disease, prostate cancer, and breast cancer. The protein is involved in mRNA processing pathways with other proteins such as HNRNPK, NBN, SRRM2, RELB, and ATM.
