HAF017). Specific bands were detected for ADAM9 at approximately 110 and 80 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1." class="big_lightbox" target="_blank">
HAF017). Specific bands were detected for ADAM9 at approximately 78 and 110 kDa (as indicated) in the parental HeLa cell line, but is not detectable in knockout HeLa cell line. GAPDH (AF5718) is shown as a loading control. This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1." class="big_lightbox" target="_blank">
VC004). Before incubation with the primary antibody, tissue was subjected to heat-induced epitope retrieval using VisUCyte Antigen Retrieval Reagent-Basic (Catalog # VCTS021). Tissue was stained using DAB (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to the membrane. View our protocol for Chromogenic IHC Staining of Paraffin-embedded Tissue Sections." class="big_lightbox" target="_blank">

ADAM9 encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. The protein encoded by this gene interacts with SH3 domain-containing proteins, binds mitotic arrest deficient 2 beta protein, and is also involved in TPA-induced ectodomain shedding of membrane-anchored heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor. Two alternative splice variants have been identified, encoding distinct isoforms.
