Clone | YC5/45 |
Clonality | Monoclonal |
Host | Rat |
Conjugate | Janelia Fluor 646 |
Immunogen | Serotonin conjugated to Bovine Serum Albumin. |
Specificity | NB100-65037 recognizes serotonin and does not cross react with 5-hydroxyindolacetic acid, GABA, noradrenaline, 5-hydroxytryptophan, carnosine or melatonin. Serotonin (also known as 5-hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT) is a biochemical messenger and neurotransmitter synthesized from L-tryptophan. Serotonin has a range of functions, including regulation of gastric motility, and may be related to some psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia and depression. Serotonin is widely distributed in the central and peripheral nervous system, and also in some non-neural tissues such as platelets. |

How DOPA Decarboxylase Affects Neurotransmitter Synthesis DOPA decarboxylase (DDC) is responsible for catalyzing the conversion of aromatic amino acids into their corresponding amines during the synthesis of several important neurotransmitters. Specifically, DDC catalyzes the decarboxylation of L-DOPA to... Read full blog post. |
"Freeze!" - Arrestin Antibodies Used in New Serotonin Syndrome Study The beta-arrestin family regulate receptor binding of G-proteins, a group of seven transmembrane receptor proteins which includes the adrenergic, dopamine and serotonin receptors. Recently, arrestin antibodies were used in a study into Serotonin Syndr... Read full blog post. |
