Description
Most excitable cells have these kind of voltage-gated sodium channels, these are responsible for generating and transmitting action potentials in neuronal cells. In brain these channels are heteromers made of alpha, beta1 and beta2 subunits. The alpha subunit forms the pore of the channel.
