Dexras1, also known as Dexamethasone-induced Ras-related protein 1 and RASD1, is a 32 kDa 281 amino acid protein with a shorter 14 kDa 122 isoform produced by alternative splicing. By interacting with APBB1, Dexras1 functions as a negative regulator of the activities of APBB1. Current research on Dexras1 is being conducted in its relation to myeloma, smith-magenis syndrome, Alzheimer's disease, leiomyosarcoma, neuronitis, prostate leiomyosarcoma, gigantism, prostatitis and pancreatitis. Dexras1 is linked to the cell proliferation, virulence, pathogenesis, hormone secretion, MAP kinase signaling and transport pathways where it interacts with NOS1, PLSCR1, GNAI1, GNAI2 and GNB1.
