APLP1, or Amyloid-like protein 1, contains two similar isoforms weighing approximately 72 kDa each, and is involved in postsynaptic function and signal transduction activation. Disease research is currently being conducted on APLP1 and its relation to chronic fatigue syndrome, lissencephaly, neuronitis, infertility, neurodegeneration, pharyngitis, cerebritis, and neuroblastoma. The protein is not linked to specific pathways, but it does interact with ZNF24, TK1, TSC22D1, EEF1A1, and GDF9.
