Recombinant Viral Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus NS1 protein was serially diluted 2-fold and captured by Mouse Anti-Viral Tick-borne Encephalitis VirusNS1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB101061) coated on a Clear Polystyrene Microplate (Catalog # DY990). Mouse Anti-Viral Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus NS1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB10106) was biotinylated and incubated with the protein captured on the plate. Detection of the standard curve was achieved by incubating Streptavidin-HRP (Catalog # DY998) followed by Substrate Solution (Catalog # DY999) and stopping the enzymatic reaction with Stop Solution (Catalog # DY994).

Background

Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV), a member of the genus Flavivirus, is the virus associated with tick-borne encephalitis. Three TBEV sub-types have been described: European or Western tick-borne encephalitis virus, Siberian tick-borne encephalitis virus, and Far eastern Tick-borne encephalitis virus (formerly known as Russian Spring Summer encephalitis virus, RSSEV). TEBV NS1 protein is one of the most conserved. Homology level of the NS1 protein is about 90% between TBEV strains. Tick-borne encephalitis virus causes 13,000 cases of human meningitis and encephalitis annually.
