Lysate Details for TAFA4/FAM19A4
HEK293T cells in 10-cm dishes were transiently transfected with a non-lipid polymer transfection reagent specially designed and manufactured for large volume DNA transfection. Transfected cells were cultured for 48hrs before collection. The cells were lysed in modified RIPA buffer (25mM Tris-HCl pH7.6, 150mM NaCl, 1% NP-40, 1mM EDTA, 1xProteinase inhibitor cocktail mix, 1mM PMSF and 1mM Na3VO4, and then centrifuged to clarify the lysate. Protein concentration was measured by BCA protein assay kit. This product is manufactured by and sold under license from OriGene Technologies and its use is limited solely for research purposes.
Alternate Names for TAFA4/FAM19A4 Overexpression Lysate (Native)
- Chemokine-like protein TAFA-4
- family with sequence similarity 19 (chemokine (C-C motif)-like), member A4
This gene is a member of the TAFA family which is composed of five highly homologous genes that encode small secreted proteins. These proteins contain conserved cysteine residues at fixed positions, and are distantly related to MIP-1alpha, a member of the CC-chemokine family. The TAFA proteins are predominantly expressed in specific regions of the brain, and are postulated to function as brain-specific chemokines or neurokines, that act as regulators of immune and nervous cells. Transcript variants with different 5' UTRs, but encoding the same protein, have been found for this gene. Transcript Variant: This variant (1) has a longer 5' UTR compared to transcript variant 2. Both variants encode the same protein.
This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Lysates are guaranteed
