Description
TDRD9, also referred to as Tudor Domain Containing 9, is a member of the DEAD box helicase family. TDRD9 is thought to be an ATP-binding RNA helicase that plays an important role in spermatogenesis. TDRD9 has also been shown to interact with PIWIL1 and PIWIL4 via the piRNA metabolic pathway. Current research surrounding TDRD9 has shown a possible link with diseases and disorders such as bipolar disorder, hypoxia, and malaria.
