Description
PIGB, also referred to as GPI mannosyltransferase 3, is 554 amino acids long and is approximately 65 kDa. PIGB is a mannosyltransferase that is implicated in the biosynthesis of GPI anchors. Current research on PIGB is being performed relating to several diseases and disorders including malaria, sleeping sickness, Griscelli syndrome and encephalomalacia. PIGB has also been shown to have interactions with TMED10, CDC40, DNAJA1, FNBP1L and EEF1A1 in pathways such as GPI anchor biosynthesis and metabolic pathways.
