DEDD, also known as Death effector domain-containing protein, consists of a 36.8 kDa and a 40.4 kDa isoform and is involved in regulating the degradation of CASP3 in certain substances during apoptosis. Current research is exploring the effect of the protein on diseases such as dental fluorosis and dental caries. The protein is involved in transcription pathways with APLP2, CASP8, DEDD2, SMAD3, and CASP10.
