Current studies are being done on several diseases and disorders linked to this gene including polycystic ovary syndrome, spondylitis, arterial calcification, inflammatory bowel disease, gestational diabetes, ulcerative colitis, insulin resistance, Crohn's disease, psoriasis, prostate cancer, atherosclerosis, obesity, prostatitis, pancreatitis, and malaria.
