Spotlight on Rabies Research
One of the major impediments to modern rabies research has been the lack of a reliable serologic assay to probe bat immunologic responses. Researchers have traditionally diagnosed rabies in bats using viral neutralization assays. Our new anti-bat monoclonal antibody specifically binds the light chain of all bat immunoglobulin types. This antibody is therefore able to distinguish between rabies infected versus non-infected bats in an assay commonly used to detect rabies, but never before used in bats.

Spotlight on iPSC Reprogramming

An exciting new study in Nature details techniques for
direct reprogramming somatic cells to induce pluripotency (1). Researchers showed that MBD3 depletion and Myc transduction can result in reliable iPSC reprogramming. These findings potentially remove a major obstacle preventing successful reprogramming in a majority of cells. Here we are...

Spotlight on MRN Complex
The MRN (Mre11-RAD50-NBS1) protein complex binds double strand lesions to initiate DNA repair pathways. Interactions between the MRN complex and downstream proteins such as ATM and p53 are compelling targets for the understanding and treatment of many genetic diseases. Novus offers an extensive line of research reagents for the MRN complex and DNA repair pathways.
