Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF)- MV Filter Summary
| Description |
Tangential flow filter-MV are a filter cartridge of hollow polysulfone fibers used for separating different EVs by size. Microvesicles bigger than 150 nm are retained inside the hollow fibers, while small EVs and molecules easily permeate the filter. Microvesicles can be recovered with a syringe in PBS buffer without additional purification steps. |

Background
Tangetial flow filtration (TFF) is a technique primarily used for concentrating large sample volumes containing extracellular vesicles (EVs). The process involves passing the EV-containing liquid horizontally (tangentially) over the pores of the membrane allowing particles that are smaller than the membrane pores to filter through, while larger particles are retained in the chamber.
