Serotonin Antibody (YC5/45) [Janelia Fluor® 585] Summary

Immunogen
Serotonin conjugated to Bovine Serum Albumin.
Specificity
NB100-65037 recognizes serotonin and does not cross react with 5-hydroxyindolacetic acid, GABA, noradrenaline, 5-hydroxytryptophan, carnosine or melatonin. Serotonin (also known as 5-hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT) is a biochemical messenger and neurotransmitter synthesized from L-tryptophan. Background

Serotonin-positive cells are present in gastric, duodenal, jejunal, ileal, colonic, and appendiceal mucosae. Positive cells are sparse and usually occur in the lower half of the gastric and intestinal mucosae. In the appendix, in addition to the mucosal serotonin-containing cells, there are single or small clusters of serotonin-positive cells in the sub-epithelial region of the lamina propria.

Limitations

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Primary Antibodies are guaranteed for 1 year from date of receipt.
