• Description: Quality control test: 12.5% SDS-PAGE Stained with Coomassie Blue. Whole cell lysate (denatured)

• Preparation Method: Cell lysate was prepared by homogenization in ice-cold modified RIPA Lysis Buffer with cocktail of protease inhibitors. Cell debris was removed by centrifugation. Protein concentration was determined with Bradford assay. The lysate was mixed in 5X Sample Buffer to become final Sample Buffer as Storage Buffer. The lysate was heated at 95C for 5 min and cooled rapidly.

• Buffer: In ready-to-use Sample Buffer (50 mM Tris-HCl, 2% SDS, 10% Glycerol, 300 mM 2-mercaptoethanol, and 0.01% Bromophenol blue). Lysis Buffer (50 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl, 1mM EDTA, 1% Triton X-100, 0.1% SDS, 1% Sodium deoxycholate, 1mM PMSF).

Background

PC12 is a cell line derived from a pheochromocytoma of a male rat adrenal gland. PC12 cells are small, irregularly shaped cells that form as floating clusters with a few scattered attached cells in culture. PC12 cells are also suitable as a transfection host. With the addition of nerve growth factor to PC12 cells, they will stop dividing and terminally differentiate, making PC12 a useful model for neuronal differentiation.

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Lysates are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt.
