InnovaCoat® Gold - 10nm Mini Maleimide Antibody Labeling Kit [272-0005] - Lateral flow assay demonstrates increased performance of orientated (Fab'-InnovaCoat GOLD-Maleimide) vs. random (Fab-InnovaCoat GOLD) labeling. All components of the lateral flow assay are identical with the exception of the method used to conjugate the Fab' to InnovaCoat GOLD-Maleimide or Fab to InnovaCoat GOLD. Fab and Fab' fragments were derived from the same antibody.

InnovaCoat® Gold - 10nm Mini Maleimide Antibody Labeling Kit Summary

• Description: This conjugation kit allows thiolated molecules (e.g. antibodies, Fab’ fragments, or other sulfhydryl-containing biomolecules) to be covalently attached to ultra-stable InnovaCoat® GOLD nanoparticles at very high OD quickly and easily.
  
  The researcher simply has to pipette the solution of the thiol-activated molecule to the vial of InnovaCoat® GOLD – Maleimide. The hands-on time for the procedure is about 5 minutes and the conjugate is ready to use within 1 hour.
  
  The InnovaCoat® protective coating completely shields the biomolecule from the metal surface thus eliminating metal-antibody interactions and reducing the risk of sub-optimal antibody performance (e.g. loss of affinity or denaturation, especially of small antibody fragments). Moreover, the covalently attached molecule is not prone to dissociation which is a major problem with direct thiol-to-gold metal conjugations.
