Background

Infections by human papillomaviruses (HPV) can cause relatively harmless plantar warts and also more serious genital warts that can increase the risk to women for developing cervical cancer. Infections with HPV11 triggers genital warts. E7 is a protein that is encoded by by HPV11 and is implicated in the disruption of host cells and promoting their proliferation.
