Background
HCV is a positive, single-stranded RNA virus in the Flaviviridae family. The genome is approximately 10,000 nucleotides and encodes a single polyprotein of about 3,000 amino acids. The polyprotein is processed by host cell and viral proteases into three major structural proteins including NS3, and several non-structural proteins necessary for viral replication. The NS3 part of the polyprotein displays three enzymatic activities: serine protease, NTPase and RNA helicase.

-
I am looking for antibodies that would recognize certain fragments of E2 protein from 1B genotype, to be exact: aminoacids 384-410 (hypervariable region 1) aminoacids 412-431 (hyperconserved region 1). These peptides are displayed on the surface of adenoviral capsid. Could you tell me if you know whether your antibodies would recognize this epitopes from this genotype?
- Our web page / datasheet for this product notes that the specificity is the hepatitis C virus E2 antigen, and the immunogen was recombinant hepatitis C virus E2 (genotype 1a). Unfortunately, we cannot disclose the exact sequence of the immunogen used to make the antibody, as this proprietary information. We are unable to say which particular E2 region NB100-62654 binds to. The immunogen was derived from the 1A genotype and we have not tested to see if it binds to the 1B genotype.
