-
Can the antibody catalog number NBP1-05453 be used in WB to detect VP1 and 2B, which are proteins of Foot-and-mouth disease virus, of the serotypes O1Manisia, A IRAN 05, SAT2 liby 2003, or O /TUN/99?
- At this time Novus has not validated this antibody for use in Western Blot. In addition to this we have not characterized the non-structural proteins targeted by this particular antibody. If you plan on proceeding with WB testing, we would encourage you to apply for our Innovators Reward Program. Under the terms of this program, you will be eligible for a full credit in exchange for your data, in the form of an online review, regardless of positive or negative results. We have an enquiry about Foot-and-mouth disease virus monoclonal antibody, clone 1G2 (catalog#NBP1-05453). One of our customers is interested in using the antibody for pig or horse samples which were infected by Foot-and-mouth disease virus. May I know if the antibody could work in these samples?
- NBP1-05453 is specific for the NS-non structural proteins of the virus and has been validated for use in ELISA. As the antibody is specific for viral proteins, the sample origin and species is irrelevant.
-
Could you please provide the information of immunogen, as protein_acc and epitope if possible of Foot-and-mouth disease virus antibody (NBP1-05453)?
- Unfortunately, we have not determined the exact epitope of this antibody. We only know that NBP1-05453 is specific for non-structural protein 2a.
-
What method of ELISA has this product been verified for?
- This product has been validated in direct ELISA. We have not done a competition ELISA using this product. I would imagine that this should work, as a competition ELISA is basically a direct ELISA.
