This antibody reacts with proteins of 43 kDa and 72-80 kDa molecular weight. It reacts with a surface protein on fibroblasts (synovial, foreskin and thymic), fibroblast cell lines, tissue macrophages, and 95% of peripheral blood monocytes. It does not stain lymphocytes or human epithelial cells but does stain malignant fibrosarcoma tissue. |

Notes
Intended Use: This product is intended for qualitative immunohistochemistry with normal and neoplastic formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections, to be viewed by light microscopy. Clinical interpretation of staining results should be accompanied by histological studies with proper controls. Patients clinical histories and other relevant diagnostic tests should be utilized by a qualified person(s) when evaluating and interpreting results.
Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. Optimal incubation should be determined by the user based upon the fixation conditions and staining system employed. Pretreatment of formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections before immunohistochemistry has not been characterized.
Background
Overgrowth of epithelial cells by fibroblasts has long been an obstacle to cultivation of normal and abnormal epithelial cells. In addition, apart from the functional significance of cells characteristics, the characterization of cell lines is important for correlation of cultures with tissue origin, identification of the lineage to which the cells belong or the precursor status of the cells. Monoclonal antibodies to fibroblast surface protein should provide a powerful tool for control of fibroblast growth in a variety of human cell culture systems, such as thymic epithelial (TE) cell cultures allowing the growth of highly enriched populations of the TE cells. It is also useful for flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting.
Limitations
This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Primary Antibodies are
