EV Precipitation Solution (Blood) Summary

Description

EV Precipitation Solution (Blood) is a simple and rapid method of high yield extracellular vesicle (EV) isolation from biofluids such as serum and plasma. Based on ploymer precipitation technique, samples are incubated with EV Precipitation Solution on ice and exosomes are isolated after a gentle table-top centrifugation step. EV isolation with EV Precipitation Solution is fast and requires no special equipment. Isolated EVs are suitable for a wide range of downstream analyses such as nanotracking analysis (NTA), protein profiling (western blotting, ELISA, Flow Cytometry), and nucleic acid extraction.

Sample Volume
100-250 uL (plasma) or 250-500 uL (serum)

Applications/Dilutions

Application Notes
A 5mL solution is equivalent to 180 reactions (plasma) and 80 reactions (serum).

Packaging, Storage & Formulations

Storage
Store at room temperature.

Alternate Names for EV Precipitation Solution (Blood)

  • EV isolation
  • exosome isolation
  • extracellular vesicle isolation

Background

For precipitation techniques to isolate extracellular vesicles, samples containing EVs are incubated with a buffer that changes their solubility or sedimentation rate. One common precipitation buffer uses polyethyleneglycol (PEG), a hydrophilic polymer. By incubating EVs with PEG, it decreases the solubility of EVs in solution and, using a very gentle centrifugation step, causes accumulation of EVs at the bottom of the tube.

Limitations

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Support products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt.
