Background

Distemper Virus is an enveloped, single stranded RNA virus of the genus Morbillivirus, family Paramyxoviridae. Canine distemper caused by the canine distemper virus (CDV) is a contagious, incurable, often fatal, multisystemic viral disease that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal and central nervous systems.
