Background

Norethisterone is a progestogen (also called gestagen or progestagen) which is a molecule that produces similar effects to the naturally occuring progesterone. It is used in contraceptive pills and can also be used to treat painful periods, premenstrual syndrome, abnormal heavy bleeding, and irregular periods.
