Uterine Cancer: Disease Bioinformatics

Uterine Cancer is localized in the uterus and is frequently referred to as endometrial cancer because it forms in the lining of the uterus (the endometrium). Uterine cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women and is the most frequently diagnosed gynecologic cancer. It usually occurs during/after menopause and risk in increased with obesity and taking estrogenalone hormone replacement therapy. Treatment is typically a hysterectomy, removal the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes but hormone therapy and radiation are other treatment options if found appropriate.
