The PMS5 gene (also referred to as the PMS2P3 gene) encodes a putative postmeiotic segregation increased 2-like protein 3 that exists in three isoforms: isoform 1 is 168 amino acids long at 18 kDA, isoform 2 is 169 amino acids long at 18 kDA, and isoform 3 is 109 amino acids long at 12 kDA.
