Description
The KRTAP13-4 gene encodes a 166 amino acid long, 17 kDA keratin-associated protein 13-4 that participates in the hair cortex, working towards the creation of a rigid and resistant hair shaft. This gene is able to do so through disulfide bond cross-linking with various cysteine residues of hair keratins.
