Description
Histones are nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber as they play a critical role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication, and chromosomal stability. The H2AFB3 gene encodes a histone H2A type 2-B protein that is 130 amino acids long and nearly 14 kDA. H2AFB3 has been researched regarding its role in lupus, immunodeficiency, and malaria.
